List Confidentiality
The rosters of the Positive Lists, Inc. mailing lists are
confidential within the limitations of applicable local, state,
federal and/or international law. Positive Lists, Inc. will not sell or
otherwise distribute its lists of subscriber names, usernames, email addresses,
or any other related information it may have collected. The purpose
of this policy is to try to prevent online solicitors and others from violating
the privacy of list subscribers with unwanted email. Subscribers should be aware that individual list members could gather
this information for themselves by copying it from messages that are posted
to the various lists.
Individuals participating in online forums, should be aware that nothing
posted to any forum is necessarily "secret".
Email messages may make many "hops" in reaching their final destination.
They can often be recovered from the equipment used to send them, and
in the case of email lists, are received by many individuals. The nature
of the medium is such that individuals should always assume that anything
posted may be widely disseminated.
Further, the confidentiality of mailing lists is subject to all applicable
local, state, federal and/or international laws. Use of Positive Lists,
Inc. sponsored email lists for the purpose of planning or executing any
unlawful act is prohibited and will result in the immediate removal
of the offending member from the lists to which they are subscribed.
Subscribers should not post anything to the lists that they do not want
other individuals to know about themselves. This is especially
true if the nature of their posting may create the necessity that their identity
be released. Doing so can create a very difficult situation for everyone.
The primary purpose of an electronic
mailing list is the sharing of information. Positive
Lists, Inc. hopes that this sharing of information will be useful and will provide
support to the members of the communities served by its lists.
